Former Director Of Public Programs
Cullen Miller is an audio/visual composer, spatial-media designer, and curator. His formative years spent in Detroit’s lofts and clubs contributed greatly to the development of his aesthetic sensibilities. Beckoned by the freak ideas prominent in the San Francisco Bay Area, he moved across the country to further his compositional studies and to refine his technical acumen. Miller’s experimentation nurtured a willful interest in designing custom software performance tools. During his time at Gray Area Foundation for the Arts, he developed a modular arsenal of audiovisual performance tools for multichannel immersive environments. He currently runs the sound design firm, FINITE STUDIO, and constructs systems at Obscura Digital. His performances and installations have been exhibited internationally in museums, galleries, and clubs and typically traverse concepts such as ontology, emergence, occultism, and pop.
