Soundwave: SonicLAB ((8))

For the SonicLAB ((8)) Gray Area event, artists Porpentine Charity Heartscape, Neotenomie, and Rook will summon a dimensional portal to a xenoplastic ecosystem. 8:00pm-11:00pm.

The three performing artists are known for their experimental multimedia collaborations, and have been commissioned by Rhizome and exhibited in the 2017 Whitney Biennial. The Gray Area event will feature a newly commissioned piece by Heartscape, Neotenomie, and Rook, irradiating Gray Area with mutant infrastructures alien and familiar.

Porpentine Charity Heartscape

Porpentine Charity Heartscape is a writer, game designer, and dead swamp milf in Oakland. Her work includes xenofemme scifi/fantasy, cursed videogames, and globe-spanning sentient slime molds. She has exhibited at the 2017 Whitney Biennial, EMP Museum, and the National Gallery of Denmark, been commissioned by Vice and Rhizome, and is a fellow with Sundance Institute, Creative Capital, and Tiptree.

Neotenomie

Neotenomie is an American composer, game developer and visual artist based in Oakland, California. Her works include PSYCHO NYMPH EXILE, Bellular Hexatosis and the OSTs for Crypt Underworld and With Those We Love Alive.

Rook

Rook is a Vancouver-based musician, game designer, pixel artist, and trash rodent glitch acolyte. She is known for the gothic Americana adventure game Fallow, her experimental collaborations with Porpentine, and has released two albums, an EP, and various soundtracks.
