Learning to VJ with gifSlap

gifSlap is a software tool for performing live visuals using gifs. While many VJ softwares focus on compositing video clips, gifSlap focuses on live manipulation of geometric patterns using gifs as building blocks.

Hours: 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Cost: $60 (30/hr). Includes free gifSlap software

The interface of gifSlap is similar to that of a synthesizer, with dozens of sliders, X/Y pads, buttons and waveform automations, which can all be controlled by MIDI or the onscreen control deck. In this workshop you will learn how to use all of these features and more from Donald Hanson, the creator of the software. Registration for this workshop includes a copy of gifSlap which will be sent to the student via email before the event.
