Overview

With augmented reality as our tool of choice this workshop will teach you how to work with drawings, images, simple 3D shapes, and 3D models. We'll not only give 2D work an augmented reality overlay - which can be fun all on it's own! - but also learn how to think about telling, changing, and creating stories that use the unique affordances of AR.

This workshop will be taught using A-Frame, a web framework for building virtual reality (VR) experiences.

Originally from Mozilla, A-Frame was developed to be an easy but powerful way to develop VR content. As an independent open source project, A-Frame has grown to be one of the largest and most welcoming VR communities.

Andres Cuervo

My name is Andres Cuervo & I’m a webVR/AR artist based out of San Francisco. I’ve been working on augmented reality comics and sketches for the past 6 months, and building VR tools, installations, and narratives for the past year. I’m currently a software developer at CircleCI where I work on frontend web development — I transfer those skills to make accessible, surreal webVR/AR art.
