Creative Code Meetup XXIV
For our May Creative Code Meetup we are excited to have presentations from Star Simpson, Michelle Chandra, and Meredith Scheff-King! $5-$20 Sliding Scale Entry. Doors at 7pm and presentations will start by 7:30pm. Drinks available to those 21 years and older.
Presenters
Michelle Chandra
Michelle Chandra is a San Francisco-based user experience designer, developer, and artist interested in the creative and artistic application of data to varied mediums including maps, photography and music. She studied art, tech and code at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. Her work has been featured in many publications including the Daily Mail, the Washington Post, Engadget, Gizmodo, and the Creator’s Project. She currently works at CARTO, a web mapping platform, where she helps users visualize their geographic data.
Meredith Scheff-King
Meredith Scheff-King is a creative polyglot. She's worked in 3D printing, illustration, cartooning, electronics, interactive hardware, E-Textiles, woodworking, large scale metal art, digital fabrication, and traditional crafts. She basically just loves making things, and will go gung-ho over any project that is exciting, or at least funny. Her content design clients include RadioShack, Popular Mechanics, Facebook, BurningMan LLC, and others. Her artwork has been shown in the New York Times, MAKE magazine, SFMoMA, Portland Museum of Art, and The Exploratorium. Meredith was an Artist in Residence at Autodesk’s Pier 9 workshop in San Francisco. And a visiting lecturer at University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne. She currently Artist-in-residence at PlanetLabs.
Star Simpson
Star Simpson likes building physical things and making tools. She like ideas and sails or climbs whenever she can. Star studied electrical engineering at MIT.
