Artists

Pam The Funkstress

One of the nation’s most recognized female DJs, Pam The Funkstress, is a true pioneer. She recently joined Prince on his lavish Piano and a Microphone tour, DJ’ing his after parties with her well honed blend of classic funk and golden era hip hop. It was a crowning achievement for the longtime DJ, known around the Bay Area for her scratching prowess and her radio and club residencies. She busted out on the recording scene as a member of The Coup in 1993 with their debut album “Kill My Landlord”. Filling a political underground void, the East Oakland based Coup, earned critical acclaim by following up with“Genocide and Juice” (1994), and “Steal this Album” (1998). But it has been her commitment to the underground, DJs, and the music they embrace that has kept her fans scouring record stores and trade publications to get the latest cuts and dirt on their favorite DJ. To call Pam The Funkstress a DJ/Recording Artist would be negligent. She is an advocate for female independence and the pursuit of civil rights. College campuses frequently invited her to speak at symposiums and on panels to spread her message of success by self-reliance to the next generation. The Funkstress has been featured in music publications such as Rolling Stone Magazine, 4080, Rap Pages, Ms., Fader and Wired just to name a few. Known for cuttin’ the wax with more than just her hands, she has been asked to grace the opening stage for the elite in rap music. From KRS-One to Grandmaster Flash to Sean “Puffy” Combs in Europe, Pam The Funkstress has answered the call of duty to get the crowd fired up. From East to West, from studio to stage, Pam The Funkstress lights up the tables and always leaves the party smokin’.

Fleetwood Macramé

Fleetwood Macramé is quickly becoming the Bay Area's most exciting tribute band. What began as a simple exercise in fun has turned into an awe-inspiring live experience complete with show-stopping renditions of Fleetwood Mac's greatest hits. Audience participation is encouraged, and Bay Area crowds are coming in droves to sing along with Fleetwood Macrame. What's more, they sound so much like Fleetwood Mac, if you closed your eyes you would think it was the real thing. Only it's better, because you are front row!
