Moogfest 2016: Creating Sonic Tools for iOS

Moogfest 2016 is partnering with Gray Area to offer an exciting variety of creative coding workshops for both beginner and intermediate levels from leading artists working at the intersection of art and technology.

Friday 5/20 - 10:00am-1:00pm

Developing for iOS devices can be an intimidating world to enter though it doesn’t have to be. Lead by Alexander Randon, the creator of the best selling iOS apps Fugue Machine and Arpeggionome, this workshop is aimed to diffuse the intimidation around creating your own tools for iOS devices. Participants will explore how to create a sandbox for experimentation with audio and midi, make some fun noises, and gain a brief insight to the world of creating tools for sonic exploration for iOS devices. This workshop is for beginner to intermediate programmers who are interested in building applications for iOS devices. Prior experience is not required though encouraged. A mac laptop is for participation.

Alexander Randon

Alexander Randon is an indie music app developer / electrical engineer / composer, and creator of Fugue Machine, Arpeggionome, and Link to Midi. Rather than composing and performing music meticulously, he aims to refine an improvisation process over time — using custom iPad Apps, MaxMSP, Ableton Live, and various hardware gear.
