Lemonopoly is a game to enhance our local lemon trade. The goal of Lemonopoly is to build more community around lemon trading to help the Bay Area become sustainable in one food commodity that grows well locally. We trade real, local lemons that grow in backyards, urban farms and public fruit trees.

This hack was worked on during the Creative Currency Collaboration Weekend, April 27-29th,2012, a first-of-its-kind partnership between Gray Area Foundation for the Arts, Hub Bay Area, The San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Civic Innovation, and American Express. These partnerships have allowed the project to bridge communities interested in technology, social enterprise, community development, civic issues, and the new economy in an unprecedented way.
