DJ Ahmed was born in Iraq and survived the Gulf War of 1990, the Iraqi uprising in 1991, and lived through the US imposed sanctions until 1993. His father fled Iraq after completing 18 months of his 24-year prison sentence for criticizing Saddam’s Baath party. After he was accepted for asylum in San Francisco, his mother and sisters and Ahmed joined him in 1994. San Francisco has been his home ever since. DJ Ahmed been a DJ for 12 years playing international music from Iraq and all Arab countries as well as India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, and more.
