Samantha Alexa is a working set designer, performance artist, and actress. Her creative praxis works to understand the relationship between land, performance art, technology, and spirituality. She is currently making art in San Francisco after spending six years abroad studying Contemporary Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Growing up in the Bay Area, she witnessed how excessive prioritization of wealth expedited change that dominated San Francisco’s historic diversity of people and culture. Living through this shift inspired her to artistically respond and reflect upon these imbalances. When innovation and technology has historically been associated with masculinity, her work diversifies the way in which we code femininity. Prompting her to inquire and investigate how technology’s masculinity can unite with the feminist need to heal our inner and outer worlds. Through this emerging praxis she aims for her artistic work to inspire the evolution of our collective imaginations.
