Aarati Akkapeddi

Aarati Akkapeddi is an artist, teacher, designer and coder living and working on Lenape land (Brooklyn, NY). As a coder & designer, they’ve worked to build digital spaces and tools for places like Linked by Air, Lower East Side Printshop, Autodesk, and The Experimental Humanities Collaborative Network. As an educator, they’ve taught at Parsons School of Design, Pratt Institute, China Academy of Art, School for Poetic Computation, and Bard College. Their art practice circles the profound, personal and often overlooked connections between memory, technology, and the more-than-human world. Their creative work has been supported by institutions like Ada X, The Photographers’ Gallery, Fotomuseum Winterthur, The Vasari Research Centre for Art & Technology, and The Interactive Telecommunications Program at NYU. They are also a studio ambassador at Center for Book Arts and a (very) novice volunteer beekeeper at Q Gardens.
