Alexa Velasquez
Alexa is a 3D designer and researcher whose work focuses on stylized fantasy character design, organic sculpting, and digital worldbuilding. She holds an MFA in Film and Television Production from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and has a background in filmmaking, experimental animation and bioscience. Her digital works explore themes of intimacy, sensuality, and exploratory methods for cultural preservation and archiving in the digital age. She loves designing vast, foggy wastelands, chimeric fantasy figures and Indigenous futurist worlds.
Her current research investigates the translation of temporal ritual + ecological data into generative design techniques to drive organic form generation in advanced 3D programs. Alexa’s projects span music videos, short films, visualizers, virtual experiences, and 3D motion art. She is currently based in New York City and teaches digital cinematography, lighting, and rendering at Pratt Institute.
