charles_irl is an engineer and educator.

charles got his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley in 2020 for dissertation work on the geometry of neural network optimization. He has since worked to develop, deploy, and educate about neural networks and their applications at Weights & Biases, Full Stack Deep Learning, and Modal. charles lives in the Agape co-op in San Francisco’s Mission District.
