Daniel Alfonso Massey as born in Mexicali, B.C. Mexico in 1982, and now resides in San Francisco, CA. Daniel earned an MFA in Digital Arts & New Media from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Previously he studied film and electronic music at the same university.
Daniel works in the mediums of sound, video, installation, and performance. His projects reflect an interest in the way our sense of interiority is constructed and negotiated in relation to public structures of interaction and traversal. Within these works, interactive and spatial systems function as a means of disrupting the relationship to and between routinized sounds, objects, and images. Throughout these projects there’s a common tendency towards a transformation of space whereby interiority may be diffused.
