Laleh Mehran
Laleh Mehran creates elaborate environments in digital and physical spaces.
Her work has been exhibited both solo and in collaboration at venues internationally, including the ISEA (United Arab Emirates), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (Taiwan), FILE (Brazil), ACT Festival (South Korea), 404 International Festival of Art & Technology (Argentina), Next 5 Minutes 4 Tactical Media Festival (Netherlands), European Media Arts Festival (Germany), Al Riwaq Art Space (Kingdom of Bahrain), Fubar Festival (Croatia), CologneOFF (Morocco), and in the USA at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, Mattress Factory Museum, Carnegie Museum of Art, Vanderbilt University, The Georgia Museum of Art, The Andy Warhol Museum, Denver Art Museum, DIVERSEartLA in the LA Art Show, Biennial of the Americas at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Currents: The Santa Fe International New Media Festival, the Pittsburgh Biennial, RedLine Contemporary Art Center, and the Daniels & Fisher Clock Tower.
She has received awards including the Creative Capital Foundation Grant (subRosa collective), Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts, and the Cultural Program for Enhancing Mutual Understanding from the American Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Mehran received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University and currently resides between Denver (CO) and Columbus (OH) where she is a Professor of Art and Technology at The Ohio State University.
