Marianne Abreu
I was born and raised in Brasilia, Brazil, lived in the suburbs of the famous Pilot Plan. Being surrounded by Oscar Niemeyer’s and other modernist architects buildings might have given me not only an early sense of aesthetics but also a particular critical vision about design.
During school years, I earned a bachelor degree in Industrial Design from University of Brasilia and a master degree in Design Strategy and Management from Parson School of Design. I also spent 3 months living in at NASA Ames Campus for the Singularity University Program. Among astronauts and scientists, I learned about the most advanced technologies in the world.
My work has influenced the new generations of Samsung SmartTVs and Smartphones. Previously, I worked at the prestigious UX group of Globo.com and for organizations like Purpose and Avaaz to create “MeuRio”, Rio de Janeiro’s largest mobilization network that seeks for more transparency in politics. Besides building products that are proven to improve people’s lives, I design products that help companies to leverage investments and increase consumers engagement.
