Mya Exum is a multidisciplinary artist and Creative Director whose work uses fashion as a lens to explore religion, technology, and the search for identity. With a background in machine learning, they fuse technical knowledge with visual storytelling to build surreal, emotionally charged experiences. For Gray Area, they’re presenting Rendering—an immersive installation and animated RPG concept developed in collaboration with illustrator OHWDIDTAHT. The project metaphorically examines the feeling of being stuck in a “rendering state,” where your motivations are unclear, and you turn to external forces—faith, AI, or societal expectations—for clarity. Through looping visuals, digital altars, and game-like interaction, the piece invites viewers to confront uncertainty as a gateway to transformation.
