3D Projection Mapping the DODA with PIXERA and TouchDesigner

In this hands-on workshop, you will explore the principles of 3D projection mapping and the workflow between PIXERA and TouchDesigner. You will learn to achieve perfect 3D alignment, create custom visuals in TouchDesigner, and seamlessly integrate these real-time assets into the PIXERA timeline alongside linear media.

Dates: Thursday, January 15 + Friday, January 16, 2026

Times: Thursday + Friday, 10:00 – 4:00 PM PST

Experience Level: Intermediate

Prerequisites:
• Basic PIXERA familiarity – if none, please watch the PIXERA 3.5hr fundamentals series
• Basic TouchDesigner Proficiency

Requirements:
• Students will need a Windows laptop, preferably with NVIDIA graphics card.
• Students should have the latest version of PIXERA and TouchDesigner, as well as a free PIXERA creator license and a free TouchDesigner Non-Commercial license

Instructor(s)

Tavia Morra is a digital artist and Principal Creative Technologist for PIXERA at AV Stumpfl. As an illustrator, animator, art director, narrative designer, photographer, performer, and developer they explore the depths of many mediums. Often spotted charting trends across disciplines, she develops creative and technical language to glue the conceptual to the actualization of experiential art, video, image, and choreography. Using color, composition, texture, lighting, movement, and humor they dole out mystique and sparkle on the world. A graduate of The University of Texas at Austin's Video Production program, Tavia cut her teeth in editing, videography, photography, and screenwriting before moving professionally into motion graphics animation and interactive technology. She's traveled the world to work with clients such as Marvel, Verizon, Dell, Adidas, Toyota, Urban Outfitters, Madison Square Garden, San Francisco Parks Department, DJ Shadow, MGM, and more. As a youngin’ they studied concert percussion, marching percussion, and steel drum percussion. Tavia now resides in California where she develops large-scale live & virtual production media engines, designs real-time graphics, dances, and sings.
