Algorithmic Art Assembly returns for a one night event presenting Bay Area electronic legend, Kit Clayton. Joshua Kit Clayton has been releasing music since 1996 on labels including Cytrax, Vertical Form, ~scape, Mille Plateaux, and his own Orthlorng Musork. He's been a key developer at Cycling74 since the late 90s working on Max/MSP and Jitter, which is used extensively in his own work.

Support comes from Minnesota's Deep Glens, fresh from his Autechre supporting shows, touring his new self-released album, Carver. Rounding out the evening will be a hybrid talk/performance by local supernatural SuperCollider maestro Nathan Ho.

About the Artists

Kit Clayton

Kit Clayton

Joshua Kit Clayton, better know by his stage name Kit Clayton, is a San Francisco-based electronic and digital musician and computer programmer. In addition to his musical work, Joshua is a programmer for Cycling '74, where he is responsible for further development of the Max/MSP MIDI/audio programming environment. He is a significant contributor to Jitter as well, a multi-dimensional data set processing and visualizing architecture with applications in audio, video, and 3d graphics, which is part of the multimedia package Max. Clayton uses Max, MSP, and Jitter extensively in his own abstract musical compositions, which have been described as including aspects of ambient computer music and glitch. Clayton continues to compose, perform and further develop Max, MSP, and Jitter.

Deep Glens

deep glens is the electronic music project of producer and mixing/recording engineer brett bullion. as an engineer, he has worked across genres with artists such as low, samia, hippo campus, margaret glaspy, bad bad hats, the bad plus, your smith, and craig taborn. deep glens is a return to bullion’s early roots in experimental electronic music, and draws on formative influences such as warp, mego, chain reaction, and touch, and blends these reference points with his extensive studio experience.  

Nathan Ho

Nathan Ho is a Bay Area native, electronic musician, educator, and specialist in digital signal processing. His debut album Haywire Frontier was released on the Japanese label tokinogake in September 2023. His work combines his background in mathematics, science, and modern classical composition with aggressive, hypermodern sound design. His latest album, Steganography, recently dropped on 3OP.
