Join us in celebrating and sending off Jacob Sperber aka Jackie House with a night of sights, sounds, surprises, and the sweetest sentiments.

One of the founding members of San Francisco's resident queer DJ collective Honey Soundsystem and a pivotal Studio Member at Gray Area, Jackie House is an artist and producer who has continued to push the local electronic music scene and champion a diverse selection of emerging artists in the community. Equally infamous for throwing an eclectic mix of spectacular parties—the ones you gush to your friends about after they're over—this will also be a not-to-be-missed night of surprises.

"It is with a kaleidoscope of emotions I am announcing my departure from San Francisco with one final event as a resident. Please join me for the quietest goodbye party I could think up as I leave a place that has allowed me, at times, to be the loudest.

As you can imagine, I have many surprises in store to bid Karl farewell. In return I ask that you purchase a ticket (even if you can’t attend, you will make more space for others to enjoy) and drink at the bar. Proceeds from the event will help me take this leap of faith. Bar proceeds will help Gray Area which has been an integral part of helping me achieve so many personal uncharted artistic goals in the last decade." ~ Jackie House

Artists

John Carroll Kirby

Producer/Composer/Keyboardist John Carroll Kirby was born in Los Angeles and mentored early on by jazz bassist/composer/arranger John Clayton, himself a protege of Ray Brown and Quincy Jones. He’s lived in Paris to collaborate with provocateur Sébastien Tellier, as keyboardist/co-producer and as a member of their “Mind Gamers” project with Dan Sticker. He contributed on Solange’s Grammy winning A Seat at the Table, for which his keyboard arrangements laid a path for future of the soul. Solange tapped him once again for her most recent album, When I Get Home, across which his production style is even more pervasive. His instrumental solo albums Travel (2017), a thrilling and deep 3.0 take on exotica, and the aptly-titled Meditations in Music (2018) prove Kirby’s vision to be expansive, leaving very little to wonder why artists like Connan Mockasin, Yellow Days, Kali Uchis and Mark Ronson have sought his acumen for the cosmic.

Mozhgan

Mozhgan is a DJ based in San Francisco, California. Since 2011 she has been throwing one of SF's most musically diverse dance events, We Are Monsters, where she is a Resident DJ. Combining elements of Cosmic Disco, Cold Wave, Minimal Synth, Post Punk, Rock, Industrial, and EBM with House and Techno, the monthly event has brought together forward thinking DJs and crowds in an intimate setting. She has also brought her instantly recognizable style and sounds to the annual Sunset Campout and Burning Man, as well as a recurring weekly set at Monarch in SF. Mozhgan has developed her distinctive approach to selecting and mixing music that has distinguished her as one of the outstanding new DJs in San Francisco.

Solar

Originally playing as a drummer in punk and metal bands, Solar’s direction moved towards electronic music in the 1990’s in San Francisco. Largely influenced by the England Acid House scene that popped up in the Bay Area and the after-hours that showed a rougher shade than today’s technology hub, Solar bought turntables and the legend began. With partners Galen and J-Bird, Sunset became known for its incredible gatherings in beautiful locations around California. A 2013 Sunset Campout landed Innervision’s Dixon to DJ in an old river mining town in the High Sierra Mountains. By March, Solar was signed onto Dixon’s Backroom Entertainment agency, which saw him play Helsinki, Istanbul, Robert Johnson, Trouw, and Berlin’s own Panorama bar.

Brooke Keller

Brooke Keller, a rising musician now based in San Francisco, California. She began producing music 14 years ago and releases under various other aliases, including odi me, djcheaplocalgirl, and Patience Waining. Keller first surfaced as odi me with two full-lengths in 2015 and 2016 respectively, exploring techno, ambient, noise, and jungle, before becoming Gayphextwin for her third album, Spiro, in 2018. It’s an album of spectacular precision that forges rough and ready compositions from icy pads, voyeuristic samples, and whip-crack percussion.
