Syphon is a state of the art realtime video collaboration tool, allowing differing applications to share video in realtime, interactively, with incredible efficiency and little limitation.

Syphon is already an established standard for working with realtime video on OS X, included in a myriad of commercial applications, development environments, game engines and open source toolkits.

Syphon is roughly 7 years old, and has remained mostly unchanged. In the same time, Graphics standards and library expectations have changed. Syphon has also inspired similar implementations on Windows, namely 'Spout', a similar tool for the same niche. The authors have partnered with Gray Area to update Syphon to remain a viable open standard for the future.
