Flying Toasters Turbo Edition

  • Will Eastcott,  Jesse Fulton, Lao Akili

The ‘Flying Toasters’ project is designed to pay homage to the iconic screensavers of yesteryear. The flying toasters screensaver was originally implemented using animated bitmaps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwn59R8Mdps). Now, the user can enjoy the hypnotic recreation of this classic art-form natively in the browser in full, hi-res 3D. But to make things even more special, the ‘screensaver’ notes the arrival and departure of idle souls the world over with audio and graphical cues. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the flight – you can practically smell the delicious toast.
