Standing Performance
Recombinant Media Labs (RML) and Gray Area are thrilled to present multi-faceted artists Franck Vigroux and Antoine Schmitt, who will showcase their captivating audiovisual works ATOTAL and premiere a new piece, NACHT, at Gray Area.
Joining the lineup is Loïc Varanguien de Villepin, who lends his sopranista voice to Nacht.
The schedule begins at 8:30 PM with the 25-minute long Nacht performance, followed by an intermission. The event then resumes with a 50-minute performance of ATOTAL.
Over his extensive career, Franck has collaborated with numerous talents, including the late Mika Vainio of the Finnish minimalist techno group Pan Sonic, on their duo EP "IGNIS".
Today, Vigroux' ATOTAL harkens back to the spirit and locomotion felt at Pan Sonic's potent performances, yet detonates a fresher distinctive sensation of acceleration through the engulfing power of musical force. For those who miss Pan Sonic's vigor and inspiration, but are further seeking an eminent sublime in brutalist sound, rhythm, and fury that signifies something, Franck Vigroux’s live large screen auditory spectacle may just be your answer.
Antoine Schmidt is dedicated to kinetic art that uses software as the primary material of reshaping physical experience. He makes objects, installations and situations to address the experience of the process of change. Projects with Delphine Doukhan, Hortense Gauthier, and Atau Tanaka regard metaphysical science-fiction through human nature.
Don't miss this unforgettable event!

Antoine Schmitt
Installation artist, Antoine Schmitt creates artworks in the form of objects, installations and situations to address the processes of movement in all of their modalities, and question their intrinsic conceptual problematics, of plastic, philosophical or social nature.
